IRA HELLER
Ira Heller brings to his mediation work a rare combination
of life experience, legal expertise, and deep empathy for
families in transition.
Long before founding his family law firm in Union, New Jersey,
Ira’s professional journey began in the world of clinical
psychology. He pursued doctoral-level training, developing
a foundation in emotional insight and human behavior that
continues to shape his approach to conflict resolution.
He later spent more than two decades as a professional musicianand concert performer, an experience that sharpened hiscommunication skills and ability to reach out to people inhis own unique way.

Eventually, Ira found his true calling at the intersection of legal advocacy and human understanding. After graduating from Cardozo School of Law, he worked alongside his father, Jacob W. Heller, Esq., a renowned and respected Madison Avenue litigator, before establishing Ira Heller Law, LLC. Over the past 12+ years, he has represented hundreds of clients in complex family law matters, from divorce and custody to estate disputes and domestic violence.
But Ira has learned from his experience that litigation isn’t always the answer.
Frustrated by the emotional and financial toll that courtroom battles have exacted upon his clients, Ira began focusing on alternative methods of dispute resolution as an effective, healthier, and more sustainable alternative. Ira received his professional mediation training through the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), and completed specialized online dispute resolution (ODR) training with Mediate.com University.
As an attorney admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York, Ira offers fully remote, family-focused mediation services to clients across New Jersey, New York, and beyond, helping people move forward with clarity, dignity, and greater control over both the process and their own lives.
